That’s an awful lot of supp’ing
Following his recent visit to Leeds General Infirmary, courtesy of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, HTSA would like to pass on our best wishes to Town full-back Tommy Smith. It is reported that Tommy is now recovering from his head injury and making good progress. We hope to see him back in action very soon. In just the few days since his accident Tommy has been inundated with good wishes and not just from Town fans. We have received a heart-warming message from Leeds United supporter Bernard Gillatt, “Glad to hear [Tommy] Smith ok, it's only a game, best result of day is that he is ok. Good luck rest of season. From a leeds fan, we're all Yorkshire aren't we?”
On a similar theme of supporters supporting each other, the donations page in support of the ‘Plastic Surgery & Burns Research Unit’ at Bradford University has had a fantastic response. It prompted a statement from Alan Carling, Chairman of the Remembrance Panel for the Bradford City FC Supporters Board. He paid tribute to the fundraising efforts made by Huddersfield Town supporters with the following statement: “This expression of solidarity from our rivals on the pitch is most warmly appreciated by Bradford City fans and the club. To raise £3,000 in such a short space of time is a real tribute to Huddersfield Town supporters.”
It is great to know that this is appreciated not only by Alan but by supporters of Bradford City football club too. Excellent work Town Fans!!!
These are two great examples of the common bond between all supporters (near and far), separated only by 90 minutes of rivalry on a Saturday afternoon.
We look forward to your continued support of our support for other supporters!
